Whistleblower Policy

One Million Wells is committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct at every level of the organization.

Purpose

One Million Wells requires directors, officers, employees, and volunteers to observe high standards of business and personal ethics. This policy encourages individuals to report suspected violations of law or organizational policy while protecting them from retaliation.

Reporting Responsibility

Anyone affiliated with the organization is encouraged to report concerns about:

  • Financial misconduct
  • Fraud
  • Corruption
  • Abuse of authority
  • Violations of law or ethical standards

No Retaliation

No director, officer, employee, or volunteer who reports a concern in good faith shall suffer harassment, retaliation, or adverse consequences.

Anyone who retaliates against a whistleblower will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination or removal.

Reporting Procedure

Reports may be made to:

  • The Executive Director
  • A Board Member
  • The Board Chair

If the concern involves organizational leadership, the report may be made directly to the board. Reports may be submitted anonymously where possible.

Handling of Reports

All reports will be promptly reviewed and investigated. The organization will make every effort to maintain confidentiality while conducting a thorough investigation. Appropriate corrective action will be taken if misconduct is confirmed.
