Program 03 · The Movement

Awareness is the golden resource.

Spend yours
on something real.

You scroll past a hundred causes a day. One of them is worth stopping for. This is how awareness becomes a well. How abundance becomes perspective. How one share changes everything.

What Program 03 Does

We turn attention
into action.

The Movement program exists because awareness without action is just content. And we live in the most attention-rich, action-poor era in human history. People care. Deeply. They just don't know what to do with it.

The Movement gives that caring a destination. A share becomes a donation prompt. A challenge becomes a conversation. A video becomes a volunteer application. We meet people where they already are — on their phones, in their feeds — and give them one easy thing to do.

No guilt. No savior framing. No complicated asks. Just: you have something. Here's how to turn it into water.

The problem

You scroll past 10,000 images of people suffering. Most people feel bad and keep scrolling. Awareness without a doorway just produces paralysis.

Our answer

We give the doorway. Turn off the tap for 60 seconds. Film it. Tag someone. Awareness just became action. Action just became a well.

The math

The average person has 400+ social media followers. If 10 of them share, and 5 of their followers donate $20 each, that's one well funded — from one post, by someone who never left their couch.

Jerry did it. So can you.

Abundance Into Perspective

You have more than
you think. They have less.

Not a guilt trip. A perspective shift. When you understand the gap, you understand why one share, one dollar, one minute matters more than you know.

Their daily reality
3.7 mi

The average distance walked each day to collect water in sub-Saharan Africa — about 6 km. Before sunrise. Before school. Before anything else. Mostly women and girls. Every day.

Hours lost that could be school time
Water that is often unsafe when they get there
A cycle that repeats — because a well isn't there yet
Your daily reality
60 sec

That's how long the #SinkChallenge takes. Turn it off. Film it. Post it. Sixty seconds of your abundance becomes a window into theirs — and a doorway to change it.

Access to water on demand, everywhere you go
A phone. A platform. A network of people who trust you
The ability to make something happen from right where you are
The Power of One

Jerry didn't drill a well.
He shared a post.

He couldn't go. He couldn't write a check that changed everything. But he could make one call — and one call turned into 75 kids with a roof, food, school, and a future. This is what the power of one actually looks like.

Step 01
John Mwase saved up to buy a phone — and started posting.
A man in Uganda — one of 18 children — spent everything he had on Facebook posts about kids who had no family, no food, no crew. No platform. No followers. Just truth and a phone.
Step 02
Jerry Harmon — quadriplegic in America — found the posts.
He couldn't fly to Uganda. He couldn't drill a well. He couldn't fund it alone. But he could make one phone call to Jim Forbis, who was already in Uganda on a drilling trip.
Step 03
Jim drove out the same day — and committed on the spot.
No grant application. No board approval. One man saw what Jerry saw, drove to where the kids were, and said yes. The whole origin story of the Community Collective.
Step 04
A building went up. 75 kids got a crew.
Food. School. Medical care. Sustainable gardens. A permanent home being built right now. All of it traces back to one man who found one post and made one call.
"You don't have to go. You don't have to give a lot. You just have to pass it to the right person."

How #SinkChallenge Was Born

We needed a bridge.
Not a guilt trip.

The #SinkChallenge wasn't designed to shame anyone for having running water. It was designed to make the gap visceral for exactly 60 seconds — then give people somewhere to go with that feeling.

Most cause campaigns ask people to care from a distance. #SinkChallenge asks you to feel it for a minute, share it with your network, and let your network decide what to do with that feeling. Attention into perspective. Perspective into action. Action into water.

Turn off the tap.
60 seconds. No running water. That's the exercise.
Film it. Say why.
Your face. Your words. Why this matters to you. Authentic beats polished every time.
Tag 3 people. Use #SinkChallenge.
You just handed the reach of your network to a cause that actually moves water.
Link the give page.
Make it easy. Awareness without a next step is a dead end. The give page is the next step.

Six ways in.
Pick one. Start today.

You don't need a committee. You don't need a budget. You need 15 minutes and a reason. Here's the menu.

Run a Fundraiser

You don't need a big event. A birthday fundraiser, a donation link in your email signature, or a classroom challenge can fund a well.

  • Birthday fundraiser instead of gifts
  • Walk-a-thon, bike-a-thon, read-a-thon
  • Church or school collection drive
  • Employer match — check if your company does it

#SinkChallenge

60 seconds. A camera. Three tags. The challenge was designed to spread — let it. The network effect is the whole point.

  • Film yourself turning off the tap
  • Say what 3.7 miles a day would feel like for you
  • Tag your most influential friends first
  • Link the give page in your caption
Take It →

Tell Someone Today

Text a friend the Jerry story. Mention it at dinner. Bring it up at a meeting. Word of mouth built this organization. It still does.

  • Text this link to 3 people right now
  • Mention it at your next community meeting
  • Bring it to your book club, church, or team
  • Share it in a group chat where it fits
