Water is where
it all starts.
Opportunity. Health. Economic development. Food systems. Generational change.
The core foundational program.
The Water Program of One Million Wells is the core foundational program. It unlocks school attendance, gives women and children hours of their day back, allows food systems to grow. Hours gained provide economic development and put money back in communities.
The goal is generational change. One Million Wells knew that closing the gap meant education was key — so they developed a water program that trains local community members how to locate and drill wells using primarily local supplies. Local supplies purchased, local teams trained and paid — so they can continue the work long after we've gone.
Most water organizations deliver water access.
We deliver everything that comes after.
One Million Wells saw a gap in how water access was being delivered — so they changed the system. We built a program that delivers sustainable impact: education, economic development, multiplication, generational change. Communities are forever changed.
Four steps. Infinite wells.
Not complicated. Just works. Every time.
R.C. Crawford's reverse-flow drill. Built from what's already there.
Designed for sustainability. Refined over decades.
The Design
R.C.'s patented reverse-flow drill moves stone up through the drill stem — not just water. 40+ years of refinement. Proven on every continent that has dirt.
Built On Site
No shipping containers. No import fees. No waiting. The drill is built from local hardwood, pipe fittings, and whatever's available. When something breaks, the crew builds a new part.
Six Per Well
Every well trains six new drillers. They train the next six. And the next. The knowledge multiplies. The model spreads. Communities own their water forever.
Three ways in. Pick one.
You don't have to go anywhere to change everything. But if you can — we'd love to have you.
Fund a Well
$3,500 drills one complete well. 300+ people. For life. Your name and city get inscribed at the site — every person who pumps that handle knows someone cared. Or give $20. It still has a job.
Give Now →Come Drill
Join a drilling trip. Train alongside local crews. Put your hands on R.C.'s patented drill. No prior experience needed — just willingness to show up and work hard. People who go come back different.
Volunteer →Cause a Ripple
Take the #SinkChallenge. Turn off the tap for 60 seconds. Film it. Tag three people. When your network sees you act, they're 3× more likely to act themselves. Jerry didn't drill a well — he shared a post.
#SinkChallenge →Water is the
starting line.
Not the finish line. The starting line for everything else.
