Bringing Water To the World

One Million Wells invites you to join us in our mission to bring water to the world. Whether it is an individual contribution – or donations from your church group, civic group, or other organization – no gift is too small or too big! Those who contribute $3,500 or more will receive notification of the location and number of the wells(s) completed with their gift.

All of One Million Wells’ administrative costs are covered by sustaining donors. So, be assured that 100% of your contribution will go directly to pay for the cost of drilling wells at the local level – including drilling equipment and materials, training of local drilling team, wages for the local drilling team, wages for local team supervisors, local transportation, and food and beverages for the drilling team as well as the expenses to continue our mission to spread our technology around the world by training others who continue to drill and train others to drill for water for themselves.

Shelter & Care

Your gift to Shelter & Care helps provide vulnerable children with safe shelter, nutritious meals, access to clean water, school enrollment, and regular medical care. From mosquito nets and bedding to clean showers and caregiver support, your generosity meets urgent needs and restores dignity.

We are currently building a permanent home for 72 orphans in Uganda and supporting another orphanage in Tanzania with 40 children. While our dream is to see every child enrolled in school, we can only educate as many as funding allows—after providing for their most essential daily needs. Every dollar helps us create safe, loving environments where children can grow, learn, and dream—breaking cycles of poverty for generations to come.

Dignity & Education Initiative: More Precious Than Pearls

In 2024, after meeting Brandy Vath—founder ofMore Precious Than Pearls (MPTP) our board was deeply moved by her work. We invited Brandy to join ourShelter & Care initiatives to help expand awareness and education on a topic often considered too taboo: menstrual health.

In Tanzania and many parts of East Africa, a high number of teenage girls drop out of school simply because they lack access to basic menstrual products and education. Without the means to manage their cycles safely, some girls feel pressured into unhealthy situations or resort to using unsafe materials like old rags or pieces of mattress—leading to health problems and missed opportunities. Many also lack accurate information about their own reproductive health, causing confusion, shame, and silence.

Brandy foundedMore Precious Than Pearls in 2023 to change this reality. Her program equips girls—and entire communities—with education, dignity, and safe, reusable hygiene products. To date, the initiative has reached over 5,000 people across Tanzania, and with the support of One Million Wells (OMW), the team is now expanding into Uganda in 2024!

How You Can Help

Every gift makes a lasting difference. Choose one of these simple ways to give:

$10 – Provides a girl with education and a set of 6 reusable sanitary pads that last up to a year.
$300 – Covers one bulk case of reusable pads (60 sets of 6 pads each).
$600 – Sponsors a 2-day educational event for up to 400 people (200 per day), including lunch, speakers, and transportation.
$1,500 – Provides a large-scale empowerment event for 200 women, including pad kits, meals, guest speakers, and transport.
